Has anyone got an inventive solution for getting round the fact that Internal SCSI port 1 cannot be in use if you want to attach an external SCSI device on an ML370? I have two internal DAT drives attached to Internal 1, Internal 2 is used for the HDDs, and I want to attach an external AIT drive to the external port, but can't without a solution to this. Is installing a separate SCSI card the only option?

Yes; you cannot use the same scsi port internally and externally on a ProLiant server.

Unless you want to string the DAT and hard drives on the same internal controller, you would have no choice in your present configuration but to add an additional scsi card.

jb
