I am using the HP System Management to monitor my drives and other parts of my HP ProLiant DL 160 G6 Server.

I have noted that in my physical drives (of 4 drives), the Port: 2I Box: 1 Bay: 2 drive is showing a predictive failure.

You can see what I'm referring to from the attached screenshots here.

I would like to replace this hard drive. These are hot-swap drives. Can I replace this drive and the RAID will figure out what I have done and do it's magic on the new drive? I could only hope it's that easy of a fix. Can anyone confirm that all I need to do is replace this drive and I'm good to go? If I can just simply replace the drive, I will do this when I can power off the server (even if I can do it while the power is on, I'll feel more comfortable w/the power off).

Thanks in advance for your reply.

swap the drive while power is off may create issues. just pull this disk online, insert a new drive ( same spare part no.) and it will automagically rebuild the raid.
