Howto install MS Windows Server 2012 R2 to Proliant DL360p Gen8

Hi. I have some problem with installing 2012 R2 to Proliant DL360p Gen8 server (HP SPP 2016.04 firmware level).

Try these two ways:

1. Use HP Intelligent Provisioning. Attach flash drive with file en_windows_server_2012_r2_vl_with_update_x64_6052766.iso. Install end with error (about 99%) - "The wim.xml file was not generated correctly. This may have resulted from a failed copy of install.wim. of install.wim"

2. Use this file for startup, copy to flash drive driver "Smart Array P420i Controller" - hpcissx2.inf, attach it via Virtual Media after Rescan install give message "No new devices drivers were found..."

Please help.

First check if intelligent provisioning is up to date, should be version 1.63.

Start Intellignt Provisioning. I see: Intelligent Provisioning Image 1.30.113 in System Information window.

So get version 1.63 now and update it (boot the ISO image).

What version of Intelligent Provisioning is last for DL360p Gen8?

I see 1.63(9 Aug 2016). But there is also 2.40 (B)(20 May 2016). Can i install this version to Gen8 server?

Version 1.x is for gen8

Version 2.x is for Gen9

Today i update IP to 1.63.

Start new install with IP, have same error "The wim.xml file was not generated correctly. This may have resulted from a failed copy of install.wim. of install.wim"

en_windows_server_2012_r2_vl_with_update_x64_dvd_6052766.iso SHA-1: 247eaee5628850a41f0c51471656aafb2492ea08. It is same as on Microsoft MSDN site.

Got It. I have bad copy of ISO-file with different checksum, then on my fileserver and MSDN. Thanks all for replies.
