    <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, this is possible.&amp;nbsp; The RAID information is stored on each disk, not in the controller.&amp;nbsp;Try to keep&amp;nbsp;disks in the same bay number.&amp;nbsp; The only caveat is the controller your moving to needs to have the same or newer firmware.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Standard discalimer: Have a good data backup before modifying a functional array&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Drive Swap different array controllers.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have never attempted this before, with different array controllers. We have a G8 with a P420i and a G9 with a P440AR. They are both running Linux OS. We need to swap the drives from the G8 to the G9.&amp;nbsp; Has anyone tried this and had success? These are production systems, tying to minimize the downtime from rebuilding them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Bad idea?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Javier&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
