We have a Citrix farm of 6 DL360's. We are running Windows 2000 SP3 + Hotfixes. Each box has 3gb ram. The Citrix is XPe+FR2. These is a back end Compaq 1850r win2k file & print server. Bascially when the boxes get loaded to just over 40 user sessions we begin to get about 10~20 "hangs" per day when the user interface in ICA(or RDP) freezes. The freeze is for about 10~15 seconds a time. At each freeze the last thing we see is a rapid rise in Disc Writes in Perf Mon. But shortly after there is complete drop ("blackout") in the Windows 2K performance counters, they totally fail to report any data. We just put the lastest Softpaq on one server, but this has not fixed the problem. SP3 was our best shot, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Our network guys have checked the Cisco switch over - no backbone or contention problems. The issue even happens when one of the Citrix team dons a thermal jacket and spends a day in the data center plugged directly into the switch. Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi!

We are experiencing the same problems, but with DL380 G2... we have reduced the number of freezes using controllers from SmartStart CDs 6.10 instead of 6.40

Any progress on your side?

Thanks!
Antonio

We have solved the issue by placing the batteries for the integrated SmartArray and enabling write cache.

Hope this helps!
Antonio
