DL360e Gen8 Dynamic SmartArray B120i not recognizing SAS disks

Hello everybody,

i bought a HP DL360e Gen8 and 4 SAS 600GB HDD's but don't manage the SmartArray controller to recognize them. I also noticed that the amber lights on the disk caddies are not shining the same on all disks. Some turn off after the initial flashing after insertion. But i highly doubt that the're all broken and testing them one by one brought no success.

Any help appreciated.

The embedded 'B' series Dynamic Smart Array controllers are SATA only. For SAS support you will need to install a 'P' series Smart Array or an 'H" series HBA

Will the controller recognize SATA disks despite the cable and the socket to the caddy being SAS?

Edit: Will this controller work with the DL360e?
