Automatic installation of all "suitable" software from NTCSP results
in system hang when formating the second physical disk. Is this
known issue for 5.04A and 5.05A SP packages?

Pardon my ignorance but can you explain a few references? What is NTCSP? I'm assuming that 5.04a and 5.05a are service packs but service packs to what? SCSI driver? system BIOS? Windows? (if so, I haven't heard of that one!)

I ask because I tried several times today to do an NTFS format to a 2nd physical disk on a ML330 and after it reached 100% the system hung.

What controller do you have these drives attached to? What else do you have installed in the system (memory...)?
