Offline SSA 2.65 is not booting on DL380 G7 server

Dear all,

I am having issue with HP prolinat server DL380 Gen7 , Raid card P410i, I have downloaded "ssaoffline-2.65-7.0" and burn ISO file to a cd , but when I am trying to boot from the cd it's not accepting that.! attemping to boot from cd then no cd detected !,

I donwloaded this copy form the below link :

I tried an old version such as Smartstart it worked fine but It does not support Winserver 2012 and above.

so is there any configuration required before to run this file?

I need this for Windows server 2012R2 x64.

I am looking to wipe the array completely and configure my drives using HP tools. I am ok with alternatives if possible

any reply or help is highly apprecaited

Finally I could reboot from the drive, now my issue with this version it doesnot show install OS and when I finish the configration as I want I exit from SSA CD and boot with Win svr DVD , no change "we couldnot create new partition or locate an existing one , for more information see the setup log files !

I think it's very common issue I was fixing it by smart start for older versions but right now SSA version doesnot offer OS installation what to do in this case please?

Hello,

you are right - the SSA does NOT offer an OS installation. It is for RAID configurtion purposes only. Ypu can setup you RAID (boot volume) with it and than go ahead and install the OS by booting the OS CD.

Download your Storage Driver: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=3883933&swItemId=MTX_0fd4dfeb438a4358a34bfffd39&swEnvOid=4184#tab3

Extract it on an USB Stick and brows for it wen prompt during OS installation.

PS: The issue related to booting from offline SSA may be caused by the CD you used. Best option for creating a bootable file on HPE servers is to use "hpe key utility for windows" and an USB stick.

Thank you for your post, I have tried that before but it didn't work because I think it's only for Win 2008R2. I could fix that after updating firmware by ioL
