topic Sponsor Our Lab? - High Fan Speed Due to Third Party Drives in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

Dear HPE,

Would you be able to sponsor our server lab? We would really appreciate some hardware that we can run a trial of vSAN on. We were planning on utilizing some DL360p Gen8 servers we have off warranty and collecting dust. Unfortunately due to your firmware logic, the temperature reporting from some economical Seagate drives we have installed cause the fans to run at near 100%. (http://dascomputerconsultants.com/HPCompaqServerDrives.htm)

All we need is sixteen 2 TB Gen8 compatible small form factor (2.5") drives.

Thanks for you consideration and assisting us with keeping usable equipment out of landfills, enabling evaluation and education at a reasonable expense, and embracing flexible, open hardware.

Sincerely,

Tim
