Hello,

i have a Proliant ML350 G2 Server with Windows 2000 Server installed.

The eventlog is full of messages like this example here: The Collect Procedure for "W3SVC" service in DLL C:\Winnt\system32\w3crts.dll" generated an exception or returned an invalid status...

The Event ID is 1010.

The Problem is that the Performance counter will not be available. So i tried to restart the Performance LOg and Alert Service severall times. I also tried a tool from resource kit of Windows (exctrlst.exe) to disable the counters so that they turn no error.

I installed the server with SmartStart thatcame with the Machine.

Any suggestions ???

You can try unloading and reloading the counter.

From a CMD prompt, go to the c:\winnt\system32\ directory and run

unlodctr w3svc
lodctr w3ctrs.ini

Hello,

i tried it and it helps. But it is not persitent. When you reboot the machine the eventlog is full again of these errors.

I saw another post in the forum where many other people have the same problem. It is a known issue by Compaq. Lets hope they solve it with a fix.
