As the HPE Smart Array Controller is same and dividing the RAID on different channels on it would not make difference.

User can decide the way to distribute the raid or not over channels.

Say I have a DL360 wih 8 drive bays. I have bay 1 and 2 for my OS (mirrored). I want to add a 3 drive RAID-5. Should I use bays 3, 4, and 5 (and thus the RAID-5 would be spanned across 2 channels), or should I use bays 5, 6, and 7 to keep all drives on the same channel? What is best practice? What are the pros/cons of each way?

Thanks

NK
