topic ILO4 channel interface driver is installed, but not showing as installed in HPE ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

I have an older DL360p G8 which is misbehaving. Spontaneously resets every 1-2 weeks OR whenever we try to do any online firmware upgrades. I suspected the iLO Channel Inteface Driver which had previously been uninstalled for other reasons. I tried to install the latest version, 3.31.0.0, but when I do it says that it is allready installed. If I install it anyway, it never shows up under installed software, and if I run SUM, it too shows it as not installed at all.

Thoughts?

What OS? For Linux it is included in the standard kernel for most distributions.

lsmod | grep hp
