I'm trying to boot to HPSUM2015.06.0 in the DL380 G9 server, but keep getting errors (see attached).

The i8042 error is normal as the kernel is looking for the PS/2 controller which isn't there.

When you drop to a prompt, the boot loader can't find the media for one reason or another. How are you booting the system, iLO virtual media, or did you burn the ISO to media ( DVD or USB key)?

I burned the ISO to a DVD and am booting to that via F11 boot options. I have updated several other units without any issues through the same method/media.

Did you use HP USB Key Utility version 2.0 to create the USB key?

Earlier versions don't work!

Try reset NVRAM using switch #6 on the system board

Resetting the NVRAM still gave the same errors. I used HP USB Key Utility (2.0) to create the USB key and works fine now.

Check IF the firmware for Intelligent Provisioning is 2.30.75 or (NA)

Go to HP website and load to create ISO,

What OS are you working with. The i8402 error is probably just the last message on the screen and is porbably not what is causing the hang. Since teh servers don't have a PS/2 controller this error is usually just informational.

this is a global issue. it looks like the IP version installed and send with the new box might be BUGGY!!!!

Again, what OS are you tring to intall? and where did you get the above infromation?

jim, os is not even installed. during provisioning the error will come out.

Sorry, your getting this message from Intelligent Provisioning? Just trying to fully understand the issue. Your comments really haven't provided much detail as to what your doing/running when you see the error. Now I'm guessing where you said 'PIP version installed' really meant 'IP version installed'?

yes, IP version.

when running the Intelligent Provisioning, error message "Can't read the CTR while initializing i8042" will come out.

HP replaced the systemboard with Intelligent Provisioning version 2.30.75 and still getting the error.

Try updating IP with the latest recovery image which is version 230.2015_0827.81

The i8402 error is just the last message on the screen and is not what is causing your issue. Since the servers don't have a PS/2 controller this is just an informational message.

The OS isn't happy about something in your boot process, you will need to run the commands listed in the image to help isolate the issue

There is NO OS on the server. This error appear during Inteligent Provisioning, for example when you want to enter to RAID configuration.
