Hello,

Please advise i have a HP ProLiant DL380 G9 with 2 in Logical Drives. The first logical drive is composed of 2 hard drives with a raid 1, and the second logical drive is composed of 4 hard drives with a raid 1+0

As i observed there is one hard drive flashing amber light repeatedly in the server rack, on the first logical drive. I believe the disk is failing and I want to replace it. In fact I have logged into the smart storage administration I can see the disk has a yellow warning sign on it. I believe the hard drives are hot swappable, so my question is, do I need to be logged-in into the Smart storage administrator to swap the hard-drive or can I be logged-in into my normal server OS (windows server)?

Thank you for your help

No need to configure anything, the Smart Array Controller handle Drive replace automatically.

So simply pull the Failed Disk while OS is running and replace it with a new one.

The rebuild will start automatic, you can see the Drive blinking green as long as the rebuild is going on.

Cali
