topic ESXI Power Module - Warning with Voltage in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with that Proliant - ESXI problem.

I am running ESXI 6.7 on my ProLiant DL160 G6. Basically everything is fine and VMs are running smoothly!

However, my ESXI gives me a warning like that:

Power Module (DC-to-DC) 6 P1V5_DDR3_CPU2 --> 1.35 Volts (red flag warning)

Power Module (DC-to-DC) 3 P1V5_DDR3_CPU1 --> 1.34 Volts (red flag warning)

Now I have no idea at all, if that is a problem or not....

I already swapped my RAM with other modules but the error stays the same. Is that Voltage level a problem? Should I be worried?

I would be happy for any hint or intel, as I am not really big into details about that server hardware. I am basiclly only running VMs on that machine and am pretty happy with it so far. But now I am concerned about possible risks...

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Mario

Hi,

my ESXI build is: 6.7.0 Update 2 (Build 13006603)

I have no lights in the front or back of the server blinking orange or red. So Power supply and health at least are looking fine. Everything in the green on the hardware visual side of the server.

I did not upgrade the ESXI. I just installed everything new from scratch and just saw this message the other day.

Hmm...

Hi,

Thanks for the information shared.

If you do not see any amber/orange on health, there you should not worry about the hardware status. hardware status of the sever is healthy.

As you said before the new build of the ESXi, there was not such error seen. I have checked the build release notes where there is no such errors are under the known isuses. : https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/rn/vsphere-esxi-67u2-release-notes.html#knownissues

ESXI Build : https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2143832

i hope you have used HPE customize esxi image https://www.hpe.com/in/en/servers/hpe-esxi.html

Hi and thanks for your help!

I see, so then.. I won't be worried to much. Perhaps the sensors or esxi-monitoring is just set "too" sensitive?

And wow, I did actually not know about the HPE-ESXI cusom iso images! I'll be using them from now on and hope there will be additional driver improvements!

Cheers!

Hi,

I was reinstalling and checking on a similar system with the HPE ESXI Image. that worked so far!

But, I am getting a new Warning. Is that just a sensor problem or might that be a huge problem?

I am running: 6.7.0 Update 3 (Build 15160138)

I hope that you have a hint for me, thanks!

Cheers
