Hello!

We have HP ProLiant DL360e Gen8 Server, and need hardware raid controller.

I see option parts for this server: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03361192

I have a few questions... for 4 LFF SATA drives.

Example this:

HP Smart Array P420/1GB FBWC 6Gb 2-ports Int SAS Controller or P420/2GB

This support hot swap (replace) drive?

This support 4 LFF SATA drives?

It is not software RAID (fake raid)?

One SAS port compatible to Two SATA ports?

This controller required "special" cable? it has two connectors.

How can I connect 4 LFF SATA to it?

I too have a DL360e Gen8 server wiht four drives, 2 each mirrored running SBS2011. Now want to upgrade to Essential Server 2011 but Raid controller refuses to load disk, controller is the B120i. Is ther a firmware update or can I add another raid controller.

Thanks mate, however we did solve it by downloading the updated Riad SW from the HPE support page
