I have a DL380 g9 server and p840 smart array controller and two Samsung ssd. I want to install win srv 2019 using intelligent provisioning But when I chose Intelligent provisionin an error occured and installation got disabled. The error message says The sata raid controller must be disabled for normal system operation in this configuration. Installation has been disabled.As long as I need to perfom raid 1, I can not use AHCI instead of smart array controller. Have you encounterd such error? How should I fix this?

Is the server in legacy or UEFI mode?

The default built-in dynamic smart controller only works in UEFI mode, otherwise it has to be in AHCI mode.

This has nothing to do with the P840

there are only two options enable raid controller and enable AHCI so it made me think if I choose AHCI mode it means raid controller is disabled.Is that wrong? by the way server is in UEFI mode.

Thanks for your reply, I have already visited these links. I do not want to use the embedded smart array controller so B140i RAID controller is disabled now and the raid mode is enabled. I can configure my raid controller using smart astorage administrator so I am sure that it can access the ssd drives. but the installation option is disabled.
