Can't install Windows Server 2022 on DL360 Gen10 Plus

Hi,

I just go three new DL360 Gen10 Plus to play around with today. I have installed all the latest firmware etc. and I'm trying to install Windows Server 2022 on them.

I've downloaded the .iso-image for Windows Server 2022 Datacenter from Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center and verified the hash and it is correct.

When I boot to Intelligent Provisioning and pick "Rapid setup" and chose to install from the DVD (I've mounted the .iso over iLO from where I'm trying to do the install) and I just get "Unable to find any valid media"

I've tried all day to get it to recognize it but nothign works. When I try to mount a Windows Server 2019 image it works directly without any problems.

Is there some additional config that I need to make to the server to make Server 2022 installation work? Or should I boot the iso directly and skip Intelligent Provisioning and install drivers afterwards?

Sorry this didn't help.

I can't rellay figure out why it won't be recognized as the .iso is complete. I can even boot it directly and run the installer that way but then I would have to install all the drivers etc. manually.

Im also finding this an issue today. Im trying the November Server 2022 DC with no luck so now downloading the Aug Server 2022 DC ISO in the hope that one works. It does seem to be happy with the Server 2019 ISOs. Very frustrating.

I also tried the Aug image and the Nov image but no luck.

I just installed it manually and I'm running the SPP on the host to install the drivers etc.
There shouldn't be any difference from installing it via Intelligent Provisioning.

Just boot from the .iso-file manually, install Windows just like normal. When everything is done, download the SPP iso from https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/index.aspx (down to the right), mount it and run the launch_sum.bat and follow the instructions and it should be good to go after that.

It's kind of frustrating that it doesn't work from Intelligent Provisioning though..

Speaking to HP support now and the agent is stating that this server hardware does not support Server 2022. Now facepalming my hands and showing her links to the latest (Nov 05) SPP which clearly lists it. Come on HP normally these servers are really good.

I have now been told to wait 24 hours for the URL to be fixed.

Please try to update the IP and then try installing Windows (if not tried)

Also try using Different options while taking Remote console from iLO.

What do you mean by "update the IP"?

I've tried with both HTML5 and Java Web Start and the same problem on both.

I just booted the Windows Server 2022 manually and installed all the drivers from the SPP like I mentioned in my previous post and the server is up and running just fine.

There are numerous documentation from HPEs sites stating that DL360 Gen10 Plus supports Windows Server 2022 and the fact that the drivers are listed for 2022 AND the SPP installed all the drivers on my server after installing it manually makes in kind of hard to deny the 2022 support for the hardware..

Yes, we referred few links and do confirm that Windows 2022 is supported.

You may try with IP update and check.

Yes this fixed the problem. I can now install Windows Server 2022 from Intelligent Provisioning.

I thought that IP was updated when running the firmware updates.

I have now the same issue on a new DL380 Gen10: intelligent provisioning not see my Windows server 2022 Media: neither via USB DVD nor Virtual Iso Media.

The HPE technician update all firmware yesterday via SPP but I don't it includes the Intelligent provisioning soft.

Any help ?

You have to update Intelligent Provisioning separately as it doesn't seem to be included in SPP.
Follow the link above (https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?language=en_US&softwareId=MTX-5ce88031fe2640c0b83a27df1d) and download the IP iso-file and boot from that and you will be able to install Windows Server 2022 after it's updated.

Hello DavidVox, the proccess is explained at Software Details - Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media for Gen10 and Gen10 Plus | HPE Support There you can download latest IP software and see the steps. But it's so easy: download the IP ISO and then boot the server from that. Be patient, it´s a proccess that can take some time.

I have the similiar problem, I recived the Windows Servers Midia but when I will start the process appear this message: "unable to find any valid media".

I already did IP update.

Hi @hcosta_98 ,

Could you please try clearing the Logical Drives (if already created) and start a fresh installation.

Also you can try to install manually - booting the Server using the Installation Media and check.
