&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;Please share the below to check Compatibility.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;are you referring to RAID 1(Mirroring)?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;It is recommended to Use :&lt;BR /&gt;1. Same type of drives in RAID ( e.g. SAS+SAS &amp;nbsp;, SATA+SATA)&lt;BR /&gt;2. Add the same capacity drives to the RAID.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;Hello,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P style="margin: 0;"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When you add the drives in the server the SSA (HPE Smart Storage Administrator )will detect all the drives.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;It is recommended to use identical type of drives when creating an array.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;You get the option to select the drive when creating an array so for example if you have 8 HDD connected to one controller then you can create Raid 1 using any of the two drive detected under this controller.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;Similarly you can choose which ever drive you want to select for a different set of array.&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;The drive slot does not matter because creating the array itself allows you to choose available drives from different slots.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;And it also does not matter which year the drive was manufactured as long as the specs are the same which is required for drives in the same array.&lt;/P&gt;
