First time HPE Proliant user!

Got a DL360p Gen 8 for a lab and cannot get it work.

The issue is all 5 HP enterprise SAS hard drives cannot be detected by the system --- unless hot unplug and plug again.

The system always shows no phyiscal hard drives. When I hot plug hard drives, system detected them and I can create logic drive, but after a reboot, it's gone.

Hard drive model is this.

Thank you very much for the help!

As suggested please check the compatibility of the Drives.

Also try updating the Firmware and Driver of Controller and Storage components.

@ksram

Thanks all for the suggestions. Too bad it still doesn't work. It is a used server, for lab only so no HPE support.

As previously mentioned, the system recognizes those (used) SAS HDD if hot plug them; can create array, but reports failed drives. I tried all 8 bays. It's unlikely all five SAS HDD are defective, so I really have no idea now.

I downloaded SPP for Gen 8, did offline update, but no luck. I even managed to upgrade SSA to a higher version than the SSA in SSP (2017 version).
