      <description>&lt;P&gt;hello&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i have a Proliant DL380 g10 with&amp;nbsp; HPE Smart Array P408e-m SR g10 raid card and 8 ssf disks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i am looking to double this number , how to proceed ? new raid card ? or just new backplane and disks ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thank you&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>P408e-m is a Blade (Synergy) Raid Controller.&lt;BR /&gt;Should be P408i-a or P408i-p.&lt;BR /&gt;8 Disk are 8 does not matter if SSD, SAS or SATA.&lt;BR /&gt;The xx8 Controller have connections for 8 Disks as I wrote in the Link above.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You insert the Expander Card into a PCI Slot.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then remove the two SAS Cables that go from Raid Controller to the Backplane and put them into the Expander Input.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(Cable go now from Raid Controller to Expander)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Expander has multiple Outputs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Route Cable as in the Diagram from the Expander to the Cages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Expander has no configuration, it's only peace of Hardware.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The best is if you configure your Server here, it will advise you for all Cable and other Parts needed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://ocs.ext.hpe.com/SimplifiedConfig/Welcome" target="_blank"&gt;One Config Simple (OCS) (hpe.com)&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Or ask your HPE Partner.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
