Hi all

I have many problems with ILO Traps, one of them is that for a DL380 GEN9 runnng ILO4 version 2.81 (latest) the trap cpqNicAllLinksDown is sent without a reason many times

Moreover this event is NOT in the IML LOG and the status of that adapter is OK.

I have seen that this trap has been introduced in the 2.70 version

Software Details - Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 | HPE Support

Is there a workaround or anything else we can do to avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Marco Correnti Techno S

Yes you were very clear. Here the probable cause could be:

Network cable not connected or faulty.
The other end of the switch/router could be problematic.

Try the workaround only if the server or configuration allows:
Try with other network cable.
Try connecting to a different port on the switch/router.
Check the network card in a different slot within the server.

Thank You!
I work with HPE but opinions expressed here are mine.
Recent Support Video Releases

Thanks again @Suman_1978

I know the possible causes, but, as I written, in my first post the trap of the fault is generarted but the ILO shows that the network card is OK.... this is the problem, a trap for a fault is generated but there is no fault...

I want to underline the fact, which I think is significant, that this trap is NOT wiritten in the ILO IML.

It seems an issue like this one, patched with the 2.79 version

Software Details - Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 | HPE Support

ILO 4 sends multiple unwanted SNMP traps with specific ID in a day.

The only workaround that you have suggested that we could do is this one

Check the network card in a different slot within the server.

but, again, I think this issue is an ILO issue and we cannot do this check right now.

Any other suggeston ? Could an Active Health System Log be useful ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @marco correnti Techno S

You can try the following :

1) Update the Firmware and Driver of the Network Card to the latest and or to the Supported version

2) Update the AMS - Agentless Management Service

3) Try downgrading the iLO (we can bring it to latest version later)

If the above doesn't help, let us know

> when the issue started

> Any changes done after which the issue has started

> Any changes - patch updates / Firmware / Driver update / OS upgrade / etc

We may have to roll-over to previous version if we identify the issue has started after any changes.

Even after performing the above if we see issue, then we may have to log a Case ( I can assist further on support Contract)

Thank you
RamKS
