topic CPU upgrade Proliant ML350 G6 in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

Hello, we are looking to upgrade the CPU on our ML350 G6 which is presently an E5620. We need to keep it as one socket and 4 cores due to running SQLExpress on a VM. I was wondering if a Xeon E5-1620 would work as this is nearly twice the processing power of an E5620? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks, Sean
