Unable to install Windows 2019 on DL360G10+ (MR416 Raid Controller)

Hello,

After many many tries, I can't manage to install Windows 2019 on a DL360G10 +.

I can create a RAID, logical drive, no problem.

But when I make the installation, WIndows doesn't detect the controller (as expected), so I try to give the driver, and I keep receiving the message that no signed driver for the hardware has been found.

I use the driver availaible here:

Hi,

Are you using the .EXE file as the driver, if so, it will not work, instead you need to extract the files and use them, here is another thread with similar issue.

Hello, thanks for your answer.

Of course, I give the extracted files. I also tried to add the drivers directly in the ISO file, but nothing to do, Windows doesn't recognize the controller.

With Windows 2022, erverything is fine, but I need to make it work with 2019.

May be you should try this. If this driver also gives problem, please let us know the exact MR416 model of controller you are using.

For information, same thing occurs also with a DL380g10+ with same controller.

Hi,

In your initial post you were trying driver for MR416i-p, MR416i-o, but you have MR416i-a.
This driver should work for your server.

My bad, I mentionned the wrong link at the beginning, I'm using the correct driver, (CP050672 extracted) and it doesn't work.

Same exact issue here. Also used cp050672.exe

Booting server to mounted ISO via iLO, Win2k19 is unable to detect the logical disk(s).

When using intelligent provisioning, it detects it however, I am unable to set the desire volume partition size, it reverts back and uses the maximum space.

HPE, we need your assistance with this.

I have a case open with HPe support.

Googling this error gives generic troubleshooting but nothing specific to this controller or its driver.

May be logging a case with HPE Support will give some answers.

Hello JSobejana,

I somehow managed to succeed....

What I've done:

- Make a 2019 ISO with all the updates added into it via DISM

- Load directly the driver into the ISO (megasas35.sys)

- Make the installation via Intelligent Provisioning (When you change the size & label of the partition, you have to confirm with the little green 'V' on the left before clicking anywhere else). I tried earlier with the "basic" iso but unsuccessful.

Maybe you can also give a try.
