Thanks for your prompt reply Sunil. I have another question. One of our old servers does not have anything other then a blinking cursor on the top left corner. Would you know the solution of we should be contacting Microsoft about it.

Hello Terry,
You may need to contact MS for this and can follow the article on MS knowledge base.

One thing before you call MS is to update the system bios and the firmware of the Array controller if you have any. I have come across this issue several times and at times was able to fix it by updating the firmware of the Smart array controller. If you know which controller do you have then please let me know I shall post the link to update the firmware.

Thanks again Sunil. The array controller in the system is Smart 2DH with firmware of 2.02. I have heard in the past that it's not advisable to flash it with the latest one immediately. Could you please give me your thoughts on this or any suggestions as to how do we go about it.

Terry yes you have heard it right. The first thing you would need to do is to flash the controller with SP8562 to go to 3.08 and then to the latest one with SP19677. Here are the links:

You need to make the first diskette only in both the cases and cold boot the system with it.
