HP DL580 Gen8: Processor upgrade E7-8890 v3 or E7-8890 v4 compatibility

Is it possible to upgrade an HP DL580 Gen8 server from processor E7-4880 v2 to one of the processors available for HP DL580 Gen9, i.e. E7-8890 v3 or E7-8890 v4?

The used socket is the same, I think the chipset too. PCI3 and DDR3 RAM are supported by both. QLink is 9,6 GT/s versus 8 GT/S in Gen8.
BIOS, Firmware, ... ?

I want to benefit from the higher core count and advanced instruction sets, like AVX2.

Is this upgrade compatible with a Gen8 server?
Has anyone evaluated this?

Please refer to the server QuickSpecs, page# 2, 22 and 43
Server supports E7-8891v2 and E7-8893v2 but not the processors you mentioned.

Of course, I know the specification, but wanted to know if it is possible independently. Has anyone tried this or does anyone know of any technical obstacles that make such an upgrade impossible?
