Bonjour,

Je vous contacte aujourd'hui car j'ai un problème avec un serveur HP ProLiant ML350p Gen8 équipé du contrôleur Smart Array P420i Controller (Ver : 5.42). Avec ce code d'erreur :

POST Error: 1797-Slot X Drive Array - Cache Data Backup or Restore Previously Failed or Cache Read Error Occurred and data in Cache has been lost.

J'ai déjà remplacé la batterie par une autre que j'avais en stock, mais cela n'a rien changé. J'ai également essayé une carte de cache, mais celle-ci n'est pas reconnue.

Je suis un peu à court d'idées. Si vous avez des informations ou des conseils, je vous en serais reconnaissant.

I am contacting you today because I have an issue with an HP ProLiant ML350p Gen8 server equipped with the Smart Array P420i Controller (Ver : 5.42). I am encountering the following error code:

POST Error: 1797-Slot X Drive Array - Cache Data Backup or Restore Previously Failed or Cache Read Error Occurred and data in Cache has been lost.

I have already replaced the battery with another one I had in stock, but it did not resolve the issue. I also tried a cache card, but it is not being recognized.

I'm running out of ideas. If you have any information or advice, I would be grateful.

Hi,

I would suggest replacing the battery and the cache module together and make sure to update the smart array controller firmware to the latest version

Hello,

On page 89 of the HP ProLiant Gen8 Troubleshooting Guide, the solution stated for this issue is to replace the cache module.

Hence, you may try replacing the controller's cache and see if it helps.
