good morning everyone.
The ILO interface reports a "storage degraded" storage anomaly. By clicking on it, the writing "Cache Module Status Failed" also appears in the raid controller information. I contacted HPE support, but since the server is out of warranty I would have to pay for a sort of telephone consultation with an external company, to then understand which hardware part was compromised. How can I trace the faulty hardware component and therefore the code to purchase?

thank you

Hello,

Generally, if the cache module is degraded, the battery or the capacitor module connected to the cache module is defective and needs replacement.

If the cache module failed, it means that the cache module itself needs to be replaced.

Regards,

If you look at the Array Controller information panel in the ILO, it should have a line Battery/Capacitor Status: *******it should say okay if my memory serves me, if it says recharging or similar then its the battery that needs replacing

Batteries only have a limited life span just like any normal battery roughly a year to 18 months life span usually. When we order replacement batteries there should be a date of expiry of the battery in the box, so be careful wherever you order them from that you are getting a battery that is in date.

I'll try to explain better: do you think I should replace the entire raid controller or just the cache module? How do I find the product number of the latter?
