Hello Matt,
Just replace the controller. You dont need to worry about data loss because the array information is stored on the HDDs locally.
Cheers,

Hello Matt,
Which type of controller do you have and what is the firmware version?? Assuming you have Smart Array Smart2SL with a firmware of 2.08, you need to update the firmware of the controller and here is the link to download the SoftPaq:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/14694.html

Just make the first diskette only.

Regards,

Sunil,
Thanks for your quick response. We actually had two servers experiencing the same problem. We were able to fix one of them but the other one still giving the same message. What do we do with the second one?? We do have a spare controller and just dont want to take a chance by replacing the controller and then loosing the data. Any thoughts??
