HI: Proliant ML750 says up to 8 processors. Compatible with win 2000 Server .

Win 2000 server says: Interested in multiprocessor support for your servers? Windows 2000 Server lets up to four processors be used in each server.

Is it 4 or 8 ???

Based on the following Microsoft document - https://download.microsoft.com/download/5/7/7/577a5684-8a83-43ae-9272-ff260a9c20e2/Hyper-thread_Windows.doc Page number, 6, it specifies the Maximum processor limit as below depending on the version being used :

Windows 2000 Version	Maximum Processor Limit
Windows 2000 Professional	2
Windows 2000 Standard Server	4
Windows 2000 Advanced Server	8
Windows 2000 Datacenter Server	32

HP 8000 and ML750 have up to 8 processors.

Processors are Pentium III Xeon.

Spec sheets for Intel Pentum III Xeon 900 both say SMP #CPU': 4

Can't reconcile in my mind: 8 Processors in server and 4 max SMP.

What don't I understand?
