Thank you for the reply Rakesh. I'm more reporting this as a bug in version 5.3.0.0 of the ILORest tool as the command no longer works as it did in version 5.1.0.0. I do see how to do it with raw RedFish, but prefer to use ILORest whenever possible.

When using version 5.3.0.0 of ILORest (Linux version), defaulting the RBSU/BIOS does not produce an error, but also does not reset to defaults. This is on a DL325 Gen11.

The command run was:

<LI-CODE lang="markup">ilorest biosdefaults --manufacturingdefaults -vvv</LI-CODE>

iLORest : RESTful Interface Tool version 5.3.0.0
Copyright (c) 2014-2024 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Discovering data...Done
Monolith build process time: 0.44693779945373535
Resetting BIOS attributes and settings to manufacturing defaults.
iLORest return code: 0

Upon rebooting the server, the configuration is not defaulted and there is no entry in the iLO Security Log.

Using version 5.1.0.0 DOES correctly default the configuration, so I believe there was a regression in the latest version.

iLORest : RESTful Interface Tool version 5.1.0.0
Copyright (c) 2014-2024 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Discovering data...Done
Monolith build process time: 0.6695652008056641
Resetting BIOS attributes and settings to manufacturing defaults.
Selected option(s): #Bios.v1_0_4.Bios
Added the following patch:
{
"Attributes/RestoreManufacturingDefaults": "Yes"
}
Committing changes...
Changes are being made to path: /redfish/v1/systems/1/bios/settings/

HTTP Response Code: [200]
MessageId: iLO.2.28.SystemResetRequired
Description: The operation completed successfully.
Message: The operation completed successfully.
Resolution:
iLORest return code: 0

Upon rebooting the configuration is defaulted and is also evidenced in the Security Log as expcted.

Default configuration settings have been restored per user request.

Hi Ron,
Thank you for highlighting the scenario. However, this commands has been updated for Gen11 servers in the ILO rest api document.
We will keep a note on the share details.
