ML 750 Adding Compaq Array Controllers......

ML750 Manual 4.59 says "The procedure for adding a Coompaq Array controllerwitextededscsi using PCI hot plug technology is based on the assumption that the server boot device/array is controlled by a separate controller."

Why would this be a requirement?

we are talking about a server that is 23 years old. Are the people who designed this server still available to answer this question?
Well, I suspect the following:
By adding hard drives hot-plug, the bus and thus the data flow is temporarily interrupted. If the operating system hard drives are now connected to the same bus (controller), this can lead to problems. This could be one reason why it was not supported at the time.
