Hello,

I have an HP ProLiant ML350 Gen9 server that is starting to get feverish with its disks. We decided to break the existing RAID to make a new one from scratch.

When booting into "System Utilities" and in "Embedded RAID Smart Array ...", I have a "Launch HP Smart Storage Administrator (HPSSA)" which seems to be the menu I need to manage my RAID.However, it is grayed out and asks to download the OFFLINE version.

As indicated by HP, the version is obsolete and HP has removed the possibility to download it.

The procedure that HP explains next is for Gen10/11 servers with "Intelligent Provisioning".

Unfortunately I have a Gen9 without "Intelligent Provisioning".

How can I get the iso? What is the procedure?

What do you mean by "I have a G9 without Intelligent Provisioning" (I.P.) ? Is the flash chip broken?

You should update the I.P. on that server. A bootable update can be downloaded from HP. I think that's probably the cause of the grayed out menu for the SSA. That menu starts the SSA fom the I.P. flash storage. If it's not there, it can not start.

You could also make your own standalone SSA boot device. You need a bootable USB stick with some sort of Linux and then install SSA for Linux on that. Maybe not that easy but doable...

Hi,

I do multiple cold boot and baterry disconnect.

I restore Manufacturing Defaults in RSBU.

I have now the option to enter in "intelligent provisioning", but it does nothing and boot normally.

I use "USB Key Utility" and add "intelligent provisioning" ISO and I have still the NVRAM error.

I have also "Controller firmware revision 2.10.00 Embedded media manager failed initialization" in Ilo and "RESTful APIError - Unable to communciate with iLO FW" on boot and request to restore Manufacturing Defaults in RSBU. (I have done that).

So I still cannot access RAID utilities.

The lastest version ask to have a "Support Validation Required" that I don"t have.
