topic iLO Service Port in ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)

Hi all, my customer have server HPE DL380 Gen10. And the iLO on rear management port was not configured. But the front panel has a iLO service port. As read from manual, the iLO web interface can be access by using iLO service port that under USB interface. I already use the USB to RJ45 converter. Thus the network indicator not blinking when connected to the laptop. Is it the converter issue or what acctualy? I used TPlink converter. Please anyone could help me

I've never tried the USB port. But if I were in this situation I would just configure the rear iLo port via the configuration interface offered at boot.

It might be a pain to need to reboot, but the benefits of having 'normal' iLo accessibility outweighs that for me.

hi,
you can install ilorest and set it up from there.
on the front of the server or on the tag you must have a password and user for ilo.

Hi,

i have made a description about the iLO Service Port here: The HPE iLO 5 Service Port

You need a USB2LAN Adapter with a special NIC Chip (because the iLO has internal only a Driver for this Chip).

Cali

That's a great write-up !!!

I wonder if the OP's issue is navigating to the appropriate 169.254.1.2 address? Because it looks like the majority of usb adapters use the compatible chipsets you listed.
