Hi @HPE_User_23 ,

ControllerPreviousError is a Redfish event log entry generated by iLO when the storage controller reports that it had an error in the past.

The key detail is “Previous” — it’s not an active fault, but a record that something happened earlier (e.g., a transient reset, firmware hiccup, or controller timeout).

That’s why you don’t see any warning in the iLO Summary or Storage tabs: the controller is currently healthy, so no active alert is raised.

However, if you want to reconfirm it, Here are the suggested steps:

Check controller firmware: Make sure your Smart Array or RAID controller firmware is up to date (Gen11 servers often use HPE Smart Array SR or MR controllers).

Review iLO Integrated Management Log (IML): See if the same event is recorded there. If not, it was likely transient.

Monitor for recurrence: If the same event repeats, it may indicate a failing controller or cabling issue.

Run SSA diagnostics: Use HPE Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) or the SPP boot media to run a controller health check.

Thank you!
Hope this information has helped you, Please click on the "Thumbs Up/Kudo" icon as a token of appreciation. Also, if this post has helped to solve your issue, consider marking this as an "Accepted Solution".

Hi @HPE_User_23 ,

Yes, correct, if there were an ongoing hardware issue with the controller, you would typically see repeated entries in the IML and active warnings in SSA or iLO. Since the event only appeared once on 2 January and there have been no recurrences or health alerts since then, this strongly suggests it was a transient condition rather than a persistent fault.

At this point, no further action is required other than normal monitoring. I’d recommend:

-> Keeping firmware up to date for the controller and system ROM.

-> Continuing to watch the IML and SSA for any new entries.

-> If the same event reappears or you notice degraded performance, open a support case so we can investigate further.

For now, your controller appears healthy and stable.

Thank you!

Hope this information has helped you, Please click on the "Thumbs Up/Kudo" icon as a token of appreciation.
