I have problems with foundation agents on a pl3000 server. On startup event id 2110 appears with following message :
Component : Compaq Host Agent
Error : Unable to read from the registry
Cause : This error can be caused by a corrupt registry or a low of memory condition. Rebooting the server may correct this error.

A reboot doesn't solve the problem.

When I try to start the "Compaq Management Agents" in the control panel I get a runtime error on rundll32.exe (abnormal program termination).

I upgraded my agents to 6.10.1.0 but the problem remains. Does anyone have any experience with this ?

Best way is to completely uninstall the Compaq Management Agents, reboot and to install them from scratch.
Make sure that the registry doesn't contain any HKLM\Software\Insight Agents hive anymore.

Note: Agents are always depending on a particular version of the Compaq drivers so keep those two aligned i.e. Agents 6.10 with PSP 6.10
