    <description>Proliant SCSI-Servers do not boot from IDE-harddisks, they only boot from IDE-CDROM for setting up the OS. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you want ot boot from a IDE harddrive, you need to insert a seperate IDE-controller, then set this controller as boot controller in config menu.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can take any brand of SCSI-disks.</description>

      <description>I want to Install a 120GB IDE Hd in a proliant 800 is that possible ? if not possible,  can i install a IDE hard disk ? 20,40 whatever. If SCSI are my only choice can install an Western digital HD?</description>

      <description>thanks, i have a 4gb SCSI hard disk now that is the boot disk and i only want add the IDE Disk to create a new volume in the server. Is that possible ?</description>

      <description>yes, but only if you connect the EIDE-harddisk to a separate EIDE-controller. The onboard EIDE-controller does not support any harddisks.</description>

      <description>Thanks Sigi, this was almost exactly my question too. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have an other question, do you know of any IDE controllers (non-compaq) that definately work in the PL800?</description>
