I've got a dual processor DL360 server which keeps crashing when trying to match the drivers to hardware during a Netware 5.1 install. Anyone seen this problem before ? It's pretty consistent

If you use a dos partition, the size should be less than 1.4 GB
Might that be the case?

What happens exactly? Do you get an abend? freeze? when does this happen?

Leon

I'm using a 500Mb DOS partition.

I start the install via smartstart, place the Netware CD in when prompted and the install continues.

The fans in the server seem to be on overdrive at this point. I've already checked the ROM version as there is an issue with the fans but that's been ruled out. ROM version is the latest one.

Files are copied over to the server and when the the "Matching drivers to Hardware" message appears the server crashes, i.e. it stops dead, recycles the power and comes back on after around 10 seconds.

It's consistent

I've installed another DL360 without this issue and as far as I can see the hardware and software are identical.
