The SmartStart CD will not have the drivers for the NetRAID card, they were seperate companies after all. Simply download the driver you need from HP and use it during the OS installation.

Hi.
I have purchased a HP NetRAID 1si controller to put it in a ML370 G1 server, but i experienced a trouble in installing OS with a SmartStart CD.
I put the controller in a PCI slot and connect the SCSI cable to the backplane whit 3 hot-plug 9 Gb SCSI disks.
I configured the array in RAID 5 with its system by pressing ctrl+m on boot.
But when i try to install a new operating system the logical device i created it's unreadable. The error i read on reboot is "177 boot sequence not set".
I think the problem is that the controller is not set as boot device, how i should set it?
They are a procedure to install an operating system with SmartStart cd by adding this controller?
Tanks in advance.

Hello Andrea,
You can set the boot controller order by going in F10 upon boot. Or you can download the System configuration utility from the following link:

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html

The NetRAID 1Si is for NetServers only and you are installing it in a Proliant Server which is not a supported option. Hmmm I am not sure if this is going to work but do give it a try by running the System configuration Utility from the above link.

Regards,
