Hi, i got a problem with one of my costumers server. They need more disk space and want a ide raid system.

The problem is when I install the raid pci card the server won't boot from the scsi drive.

I have updatet the bios to p14 and run system configuration, but it does'nt seem to help. When the automatic system configuration is done it says that the scsi disk is set as boot disk, but it won't boot from it. The os is also tryed to install after the installation og the raid pci card. And win 2000 server defines the scsi disk as c:

Hope you can help me please my costumer

Hello Kristian,
Have you tried moving the PCI card to another slot?? Or if you can get into the BIOS of your PCI controller then disable the boot process and see if that helps.

Regards,

Hello Kristian,
Please try the following:

Remove the PCI card. Run the System configuration. Re-install the PCI card with attaching any HDDs to it. Run SCU again. See if you are able to bring back the server normally. If this does work then reconnect the HDDs. Please let me know if this helps you at all.

Regards,
