Proliant 6000 won't power up.

I have a Proliant 6000 that I am refurbishing. When we power it up, the power supply test lights flash and then go solid green. The system starts it's POST, lights on the HD's sequence, and the fans all try to start but stop. Just a twitch, as it were.

I suspect a power supply, but I am not sure. The unit has been down for some time, and I am not sure of the last date that it was operational.

Suggestions?

Hello Liam,
I am not sure which version of PL6000 do you have but assuming it's a XEON model, please reseat peripheral board. It could also be a bad power back plane board as well. If you need to know the part nos then here they are:

1. Power Backplane Board 289742-001
2. Standard Peripheral Board 312335-001

It is actually a Pentium Pro box. The processor board looks like that of a Proliant 7000. Where would that board be located in this model?

Hello Liam,
You dont have the Peripheral board in your system since it's a PRO model. But do look into replacing the power back plane board. It's similar to the XEON model. Verify the connections as well please.
