Hi People. Can you advise if version V6.40 will work on a Proliant 5000.

If not, is it possible to download or purchase a copy of the required CD from anywhere?

Kind Regards
Phil.

No, for old systems you need version 5.50 (or a older version).

V6.0 and above only support the new servers with ROM based setup utility (RBSU) - usually G2 and G3 models.

You can download Proliant 5000 drivers from the HP web site. The Smartstart CD is not available as download.

Phil,

I believe from your ITRC profile that you are based in the UK. I have some documentation on the PL5000 which should help you set it up and can spare you a set of Smartstart and Management CD's if you get in touch.

brian.murdoch@hp.com

Regards,

Brian

Hi phil,

You can use the v6.40 Smart start on proliant 5000 but for installation you have to select only manul installation. It will not work with assisted installation.

Regars

Anand

Is there anyway to create your own version of a Smart Start CD? Instead of having all these programs on floppies could you burn them to a cd that is bootable? The reason I ask this is because I was updating the F10 partition with a new SCU version and my floppy drive kept failing and only installed 3/4 of the files. I replaced the floppy drive and was going to try installing it again except that it didnt give me the option to try and install it again. Is there a way to wipe the F10 partition and reinstall the uitilities and use a CD instead of floppies?

Thanks,

Eric
