Hi,

I am posting this message again in the hope that I can get some answers here. The 1st try didn't. When the system boots, I get the error:
error 162: system options not set
press F1 to ... or F10 to ....

The manual says to go into System Configuration Utility (SCU) and run the setup again. I do this and the SCU complains about illegal configuration. I choose automatic configuration and save changes. But when the system boots, I get this message again.

Pressing F1 continues with the booting and things are okay till I reboot the system again. Then it gets stuck at the 162 .... prompt and never boots the OS.

Please help.

Sorry for the late reply. The details you wanted are as under:
1) Memory: 256 MB, ECC
2) HD: Compaq Ultra Wide SCSI Controller (on slot 1) with 1 HD
3) NIC: 1 DLink 10/100 adapter
4) CDROM: ATAPI

There is no other card in the system. I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Sounds like there is HW other than compaq that can not be configured. Remove 2rd party HW. Run configuration manaully and save. Then try installing the 3rd party NIC.

hi, we r facing same problem in our PL2500 server after replacing faulty Supply. we hv not added any h/w in the server.
Now the problem is that when we switch ON the Server the Display Pannel on the Server shows "System Init." and then goes into hang.
If we set the clear CMOS switch(No.6 on system Board) to ON i;e in clear CMOS setup mode the system starts working and we can change the configuration but when the switch is set into the default mode it gives the message as mentioned above i;e "System Init."
Kindly revert back with solution ASAP as it is v. urgent.
Thanx in advance
