Hi,

To check for IML entries then check for Survey.txt on your server c driver. should be under C;\compaq\survey. It would be there in case if the installation has been done through smart start or support pack installed on server.
In survey.txt check for Compaq Integrated log that will give full details about your server. In case you are not able to get through with report attach same one in as atchement with message i will explain you regading same.

Note :
IML entries should be below compaq integrated logs. In Survey.txt

Bye for Now.

Regards,
Prashant S.

You can load the IML viewer from the smart start cd and view the log in windows or if you have management agents installed you can access the IML there. If you have a smartstart 6.4 (maybe all 6.x) you can boot the server with it and go to server diagnostics and click on the logs tab then click on Integrated Management Log (IML).

good luck.

Mike

I'm having the same error message, but ONLY after the PC has finished its save settings and shut down routine. Then I just hold down the power button to shut it off and when I start it up again it loads fine and nothing unusual happens until I shut it down again.
I'm on a HP Pavilion 8550C Desktop with 96 MB SDRAM (64 MB/32MB), BIOS 1.03, recently upgraded from Win98SE to WinXP PRO ver 2002 and added a DWL520+ PCI wireless "b" card (that's working great)and I had to install Windows Service Pack 1 for WinXP to recognize the wireless PCI card.
Do I need to upgrade my BIOS? Install two SDRAM chips that match? Start a chain letter for luck?
Please help.
JD2

I'm having similar issues on a DL320 Server that I set up to be a Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller. It ran fine for 3 years as a Win2kS system. Did a clean install of 2003 4 months ago and it was OK for a 3 months in test mode, now that it is in use, I get a memory parity error every few days (didn't change anything between test/live mode, I was the only person using it for the first 3 months). Swapped out the memory with some from another server, same results. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

This errors are almost always are the result of bad/incompatable driver and not a hardware malfunction. When i first encountered these errors on some of mine dl320 after upgrading to 2k3 server, i've replaced RAM and just about every piece of hardware but that did not help. Then i've reinstalled every driver and cpq utility with updated hp drivers and utilities and have not had thses errors since. NOTE, Do not use smart start CD, download EVERY available driver and utility for your server model and OS from HP support site, reinstall ALL even if the driver sound like it has nothing to do with the error.
Good luck to all.

I just had the same problem on a HP Pavilion 7905. What had happened is the AGP interface was causing the error. There was an AGP card in there and when I replaced the AGP card with another after the restart to finish the driver install the error appeared again. I then put in a PCI Video card and the error vanished.

Hey,
I think I can sovle your problem with the "NMI:Parity Check/Memory Parity Error" and this is how I fix my dual-celeron 400MHz running PC-133 ECC SDRam. After extensive testing, changing of all PCI/AGP cards and reinstalling of all drivers and having no luck with fixing the error, I disabled the ECC checking on the RAM and the problem was resolved.

Hopes this works for you as well.

Grant

I'm getting the same error on a Compaq DL320 server(1 G of RAM) and it's been racking my brain. It is not consistent though. Sometimes the server just freezes up and I have to unplug it to reboot.

It showed up right around the time I installed Trend Micro Officescan on the machine. Viruses were coming into the server and bieng caught(It's an Exchg server) and I thought that had something to do with it for a while, but the more I have been reading about this out on the net the more it appears hardware related.

How do I determine which drivers could be corrupt or need to be reinstalled? Where would I look for the BIOS upgarde?

thanks.
