Lubo:

There are a few things you can do:

Do all the LED's come back on when you re-boot your server?

1. Update the bios on your RAID controller. (Integrated or PCI?)
Here is a link to the firmware: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_1122.html#56

2. Re-run the ACU and re-save the RAID configuration.

3. Shutdown the server (power off) and re-seat all the drives in the cage. re-boot and see if the drives display correctly.

Let us know?

Here is the solution:
Drive failure LED light on after installing Optional Drive Cage on DL380

Last Updated: 2003-05-23 Solution-id: 215.0.29673220.3241843
Environment:

Proliant DL380

Optional Drive cage

Duplex

Hard Disk

Drive may work properly but drive failure LEDs is on.
Problem Description:

Red Hard Drive Failure LED constantly on
Changes:

Installed optional drive cage
Solution:

Install 2X1 drive cage.
1. Remove the SCSI cable (connecting to the controller) from the back of the 4x1 cage and connect it to the bottom of the optional 2x1 drive cage.
In other words, the 2x1 should be connected to the array controller (port 2 of the roc).

2. Connect the short SCSI cable from the top of the 2x1 optional cage to the connector on the back of the original 4x1 drive cage.
(NOTE: do not connect the 4X1 to the other port of the controller. This is a common problem.)

3. Plug the communications cable into the small connector next to SCSI connector on the back of each cage.
(The instruction to hook up the communications cable may be missing from the kit).
Cause:

Improper installation.
There are two cables required to complete the installation of option drive cages in DL380. A short SCSI cable and a Communications cable (12 pin, Point to Point Cable). If not cabled properly, drives may work, but the drives' LEDs will not be functional, or red led.

So put me 10 points.
