UDMA support - IDE connector (ATAPI devices)

Hello, i would like to enable UDMA support for the Compaq CD-ROM LTN486S on a ML-310 and ML-330 server with Windows 2000 Server as OS. But it isn't possible, only PIO-Mode is adjustable. Even a new UDMA-5 Harddisk supplies only PIO-Mode. Do you have any solutions?

Hi Gerd:

To resolve this issue, the drive timing mode for installed CD-ROM and/or DVD drives should be set to advanced mode (if the drives support advanced mode):

Click Start, then point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click Administrative Tools, then Computer Management, and then Device Manager.

Double-click IDE ATA/ATAPI.
Click Advanced Settings.

In the "Transfer Mode" box, for each listed device, select the DMA if available option.
Click OK.

Restart the computer for the changes to take affect.
