It is standard for any good UPS to restart the server after power is restored to the UPS.

Brad

Hi,

I have a DL380 and I want it to shutdown when there is a power failure (using a UPS), but when power is restored I want the server to automatically reboot, is this possible?
If so, how?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Not sure about automatically, but you should be able to log into the iLO and power it on with the virtual power button.

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply, I have a DL380 G1 but it did come with a remote lights out card, but I haven't a clue how to use it, I have looked on the internet but I didn't find anything useful.

Do you need something special at the other end of the remote lights out card? or can you just plug it into the network and then logon to it from any machine? also what are the other ports on it for (monitor, ps2 etc)? DO they make the ports on the DL380 redundant?

Any pointers, help would be useful.

Thanks in advance.
