Hello,

we use a HP ProLiant ML 370 G2 Server with several 9,1 GB 7200 UPM Ultra 2 Wide SCSI drives. One disk had to be replaced because of bad status. All 3 LED's on the failing hard disk were red. We have replaced the disk and installed a new one. The new disk started to synchronize, but later the lower LED of the new disk flashed green and the upper LED flashed red again. A second new hard disk drive showed the same result.
What does this error mean and how can we solve it???

Thanks for helping us.

Christian,

I strongly suggest that you install the HP Insight Management agents on the server. Even if you are not using an SNMP manager such as HP's Systems Insight Manager, the Insight agents will make entries in the Windows Event Log giving you a better idea of what is going on.

Downloading the latest Proliant Support Pack (currently version 7.10A) from HP's web site will guarantee you have all the latest drivers and agents.

You may have a bad SCSI controller, and the agents will help you pinpoint that problem as well.

- Steve
