I have dual CR3500 (I think -I'm at home right now) controllers. Do you think they will support 72GB drives?

I administer a CL380 cluster which has given good service for several years but is now in need of a bit more drive space. I see the largest available drive for it is 36GB but does anyone know if that's the largest drive the shared storage unit will accept, or just the largest one Compaq (HP) supply? I'm happy to buy non-Compaq drives if they'll work.

It will depend less from server, as from Array controller you using and updates.
In the shared storage you can go with 72 GB
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=PSD_CN0304W

Will do, but upgrade the firmware on your controller to the latest version before you start - always a good precaution.
