What is the proper procedure for replacing a failed mirrored drive. Can you replace the failed drive while the machine is running? or do you need to shut down the machine to replace it?
Depends on what OS is being used on the system and the type of SCSI controller the mirrored drives are connected to. Is the drive mirroring being done by the OS or by a Compaq Smart array controller? Please provide more information about your hardware and OS configuration on the system.
